NUAA's imprint on Kun Long AG600 Amphibious Aircraft

On December 24th, China's first large-scale land/water rescue amphibious aircraft "Kun dragon" AG600 had its first flight in Zhuhai, Guangdong successfully. Designed to be the world's largest amphibious aircraft, the AG600 will be mainly used for maritime rescue, fighting forest fires and marine monitoring.

Its name "Kunlong" stands for a high expectation in Chinese culture with the "Kun" meaning an enormous legendary fish and "Long" a dragon.

Innovation Center of NUAA and China Aviation Industry General Aircraft Co., Ltd., worked together for the design and on solving key problems such as pneumatic layout, the structural layout design of composite materials, the allowable value of materials, etc. It provided important technical support for the research and development of the "Kun Dragon" AG600.

The team led by Prof. Zhang Dalin from the College of Aerospace Engineering finished the design and producing of Engine oil cooling system and engine short cabin ventilation cooling system by cooperating with China Aviation Industry General Aircraft Co., Ltd.
